EXPLORE, DEVELOP, AND REFINE COBALT FROM ETHICAL SOURCES

Strategy

We think that running a lucrative and efficient mining business, contributing to the national economy, and committing to the battle against poverty will provide the country with the greatest long-term benefit.

  • The Cobalt Nickel project is progressing towards production.
  • To extract a sizable consolidated resource, extensive drilling is essential.
  • Keeping a dual-commodity approach in place is very important.

Company Profile

Huangpu Mining is the owner and operator of a large-scale cobalt project with significant high-grade ore deposits and integrated metallurgical capabilities. Our single-site operation will have one of the lowest unit production costs, net of by-product credits, due to strategic assets and new facilities under construction. We are dedicated to the socioeconomic development of the communities in which we operate, and we consider sustainable development to be an intrinsic part of our business strategy.

Principles and Policies

Our mission is to build long-term wealth by extracting mineral resources and producing metals in an ethical and responsible manner. In all of our actions, we collaborate with all stakeholders and believe in transparency and accountability.

On a local level, we promote open communication and participatory involvement with the communities in which we operate in order to build a foundation for long-term partnership, trust, and community development.

We have already made investments in community projects aimed at improving healthcare, education, key infrastructure, and long-term economic viability. This is in addition to the economic benefits generated by our operations, such as salaries, taxes, locally acquired goods and services, and other economic multipliers.

Governance

Huangpu Mining's Board of Directors is becoming more involved in sustainability governance. International rules and standards, such as the Voluntary Principles for Security and Human Rights and the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, are included in our sustainability policies and procedures.

Stakeholder engagement

We conducted extensive consultations with government officials, non-governmental organizations, community groups, and other mining corporations to learn about their concerns and expectations about our development plans. We use the information gained at these sessions to design and prioritize our social programs.

An ongoing consultation and community relations process has been established to facilitate access and communication between stakeholders and our social and community development teams; in addition, a complaint resolution mechanism has been established to address community concerns and complaints quickly and effectively, in order to ensure that communication channels remain open.

Key Principles

  • Engage with stakeholders honestly, energetically, and on a regular basis to create trust and align areas of common interest.
  • Take the lead in designing social development programs, which includes coordinating and inspiring partners and funders, as well as using third-party resources.
  • To maximize investments and decision-making processes, use a data-driven risk management framework for all social development projects, including performance criteria.
  • Our projects promote self-sufficiency and encourage and mobilize communities to take responsibility for their own futures.
  • Establish that the social impact of all of our company decisions and operations is considered and addressed appropriately.
